CONCEPT AND DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

The main structure use the concept from Koolhaas “ Fragmentation used to reduce impact – divide the building into smaller pieces and arrange them so the building cannot be seen as a whole from any point of view.”

The main structure can be seen as five piece of rectangular prisms, which arranged by this special way, 3 support point and one of that is slopped, which achieve that can not be seen as a whole from any point. Every angle gives viewer a different feeling. Koolhaas always think the building should building with context which is also achieving in this station.

INSPIRATION

“Create a sense of warmth and humanity as opposed to sheer function” is the idea from Alvar aalto.

In my design, I use a flowed structure intersect with ceiling to create a place for transfer the passenger from one side to another side, the that part is higher than the square ceiling and use glassed can see the sky and make the nature light come to the structure. Furthermore the whole interior design use the flowed curve, this transition part still use same way to design and provide little pace for rest. Whole design is fro creating warmth and humanity.

Small curve to make it archive with this flowed structure

Station is near UNSW, use 3D letter as the texture for the screen to make it connect with environment.

Whole structure is building with curve and prism, which is showing the contract. Therefore, the inside siting space build with curve and use this texture to achieve the contrast
